Directors
Georgia Amdahl, Executive Director / Owner, has her degree in education. She has taught high school French, beginning ballet, and dance for young children. Georgia has trained in classical ballet for 30 years. Her performing experience includes solo roles in The Golden Bough and Los Seises. She performed with Cross Current Dance Theatre from 1990-96 and is currently a member of Saint Anthony Sacred Dance. Georgia has four children. Georgia teaches from the Vaganova syllabus.


Wilor Bluege, Artistic Director, is the creator, choreographer and artistic director for the annual production of the full-length fairy tale ballet, The Golden Bough. In addition to The Golden Bough, she has choreographed 13 other works, in avariety of genres ranging from classical to neo-classical, to character, sacred and popular forms of dance. During the current season, she will add two more original works. Since coming to St. Anthony School of Dance in 1995, Wilor has annotated,taught and/or staged a multitude of solo variations, corps de ballet, and small ensemble pieces created by ballet’s great choreographers, including excerpts from The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Raymonda, Flower Festival at Genzano, La Bayadere, Don Quixote, La Esmeralda, and Giselle. Her rich repertoire and experience in character dance provides students of St. Anthony a level of enrichment few schools in the country can match. Wilor trained for 9 years with the Andahazys (Russian Imperial style of the Ballet Russe and character dance); for 6 years with Sylvia Bolton (NYC Ballet style); and for 6 years with Lirena Branitski (Russian Vaganova syllabus and character dance). During her dancing career, she performed principal and soloist roles in Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Les Sylphides, Pas de Quatre, Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Scheherazade, Vivaldi Concerto, Los Seises, Stabat Mater, Legend of Love, and many other classical, character, modern and jazz works of contemporary choreographers. Wilor is also an author, illustrator and lecturer. She holds a BA in Psychology and is proficient in knowledge and implementation of the Vaganova Syllabus.

Faculty
Sonja Hinderlie, Sacred Dance co-Director Advisor & Young Children’s Instructor, has her degree in education and music. She began a dance and gymnastics studio in Wisconsin in 1979, and was owner of St. Anthony School of Dance 1985-2001. She has taught children the joy of dance and music for over 25 years. Her training began at age five in Illinois and California. Sonja danced with Cross Current Dance Theater 1994-96, has performed in The Golden Bough and Los Seises and currently with Saint Anthony Sacred Dance. Sonja and her husband, Johan have three sons.


Karen Rivet, Ballet Instructor & Assistant to Directors, has been teaching for over 20 years and excels in the rich traditions of Russian classical ballet and character techniques. She began her training with the Andahazys and has studied under Gabriela Komleva, Luba Gulyaeva, Marina Stavitskya, Jurgen Schneider and Carol Roderick. Karen’s performing experience includes soloist roles in Les Sylphides, Pas de Quatre, Giselle, Scheherazade, Vivaldi Concerto, and Miraculous Stag. Most recently she danced a principal role in The Golden Bough and in Loyce Houlton’s Nutcracker Fantasy with her daughter, Brianna. Karen was on the teaching staff of Minnesota Dance Theatre and currently teaches at Ballet Arts Minnesota. She is proficient in knowledge and implementation of the Vaganova Syllabus.


Barbara Christian, Ballet Instructor & Curriculum Advisor, received her training with the Andahazys and is dedicated to the rich tradition of the Russian method, on which she bases her teaching. Barbara has studied with artists including Gabriela Komleva, Luba Gulyaeva, Marina Stavitskya, Alla Sizova, Vladimir Davidoff, Jurgen Schneider, and Carol Roderick. Barbara performed in classical ballets and original works including, Les Sylphides, Pas de Quatre, Scheherazade, Los Seises, Vivaldi Concerto and Miraculous Stag. She is proficient in knowledge and implementation of the Vaganova Syllabus.


Monica Wolney, Young Children’s Program Director, Jazz & Sacred Dance Instructor, has been dancing for 25 years. She has studied jazz, ballet, tap and sacred dance, with her emphasis of study jazz and ballet. She has performed in all of these disciplines. Monica has choreographed extensively for sacred dance, as well as musicals including West Side Story. She has taught for 14 years, was the sole manager/teacher/ choreographer for St. Anthony School of Dance in its early years, and is the mother of six.


Sarah Quie, Sacred Dance Co-Director, is a graduate of Saint Olaf College in Religion and Dance, Sarah has taught at Macalaster College and Saint Mary’s College in South Bend, IN. Sarah founded the St. Anthony School of Dance in 1982, the Conservatory of Dance in South Bend in 1990, and the Prairie School of Dance in Eden Prairie in 1997. She is a popular leader of sacred dance workshops and currently directs Saint Anthony Sacred Dance. She lives in Eden Prairie with her three sons and husband, Joel.


Anna Goodrich, Ballet and Jazz Instructor
Anna taught and performed in the Chicago area for five years. Originally from Minneapolis, with training at Minnesota Dance Theater, she has had 16 years of performing and teaching experience from the Midwest to Boston. She and her husband John are proud parents of two daughters, Emily and Carly.


Christa Hill, Creative Movement, Jazz & Sacred Dance Instructor is a graduate of the University of MN with a BFA in dance. She has been teaching ballet, tap, jazz & modern for the past 7 years at Hopkins Dance, Prairie School of Dance, and St. Anthony School of Dance. Christa has also performed and toured with Joe Chvala and the Flying Foot Forum. She is a member of St. Anthony Sacred Dance, and has toured India with YWAM’s Summer of Dance.


Siri Knutson, Children’s Dance & Musical Theater Instructor, has taught dance for children since 1996. She has used St. Anthony's creative movement style for teaching in Washington state, the Czech Republic, England, and the Twin Cities. Siri recently taught dance for Christian Outreach International's Performing Arts School. Siri performs with St. Anthony Sacred Dance and St. Anthony Performing Arts.


Candace Linares, Pilates Instructor, graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1989 with a degree in Modern Dance. She is currently a member of Saint Anthony Sacred Dance. From 1994-96 Candy studied Pilates under the guidance of Marjorie Thompson. Along with dancing and teaching Pilates, Candy works as a massage therapist at Edina Medical Clinic.


Janet Smith, Ballet Instructor, has 25 years experience teaching ballet in the Metropolitan area schools. She is currently teaching at St. Anthony School of Dance, MDT, and the University of Minnesota. She was a principal dancer with the Andahazy Ballet Co. Her career includes leading roles in Sleeping Beauty, Les Sylphides, Pas de Quartre, Nutcracker, Los Seises, and Constancia and supporting roles in Firebird, Swan Lake, Coppelia, Scheherazade, and Giselle. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a BS in education.


David Stright, Ballet Instructor, began ballet training after earning a BS in Social Studies Education. He has performed leading roles in Nutcracker, Giselle, Les Sylphides, Coppelia, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty, as well as many contemporary ballets. Dave has been teaching ballet for14 years.
